Information sought in connection to public indecency – Hackney Downs

Detectives have this afternoon released an image of a woman they wish to speak with in connection to an incident of outraging public decency. 

The incident happened on the platform at Hackney Downs station, at approximately 7am on Saturday 26 August. 

A man and a woman were seen by a member of the public to be engaging in sexual activity on the platform at the station. Video footage of the incident was then shared on social media. 

Investigating officer PC David Weatherhead, said: “Since the video footage on social media was brought to our attention, officers have charged a man in connection with the incident. Our enquiries continue to trace the woman involved. I would like to hear from you if you know the woman in the images we have released this morning. We would like to speak to her as we believe she may have information which could help the investigation.”

In connection with this incident, a 23-year-old man from Walthamstow has been charged with one count of outraging public decency. 

He will appear before Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday 9 October.
