Your chance to influence how we police the railway

We are asking you, the travelling public, to tell us what policing priorities you want BTP to focus on in 2018/19.

Our annual public consultation is now live until 5pm on Wednesday 1 November 2017.

It asks what matters to you and how you rate your personal security as you travel on the railway, and how satisfied you are with the policing presence on the network.

Your answers will help to influence how we police the railway from April 2018 as, together with British Transport Police Authority, we compile our policing plans for 2018/19.

You can have your say online. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Alternatively, you can request a printed survey card from your local BTP officers and hand it back to them or return via Freepost once you have filled it in.

Last year almost 2,000 people took part in the consultation and identified the top three priorities for BTP as:

  • Tackling antisocial behaviour (chosen by 40.1% of respondents)
  • Being more visible in the evening and late at night (chosen by 39.8% of respondents)
  • Uniformed officers being more visible in general (chosen by 39.4% of respondents)

You can see the 2017/18 policing plans here.
