Teenager dies after being struck by train - Ingatestone

A 15-year-old boy has sadly died after he was struck by a train close to Ingatestone station.

William Tweed from Ingatestone died yesterday afternoon.

Officers were called to the line at 4.35pm on Thursday, 21 September and attended alongside paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.

Specialist officers are supporting William’s family and work is on-going to establish how he came to be on the tracks.

William’s family has requested that they are allowed the privacy and space to grieve and come to terms with his death.

William’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
