Appeal for information after assault – Birmingham

We are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted at Birmingham New Street railway station.

The incident happened at around 10.30am and 11am on Thursday 10 August.

A 29-year-old woman was at the station with her children when she was approached by a man who assaulted her by smashing an egg on her head.

The man is believed to be known to the woman.

The offender then attempted to leave the railway station with the victim’s child but was stopped by members of the public.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

A man has been charged in connection with this incident and is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on 8 September.
