Do you recognise this man?

We would like to speak to him in connection with a hate crime at Birmingham New Street station.

A transgender woman aged in her fifties was walking through the station at around 9.55pm on Friday 7 July when she was verbally abused by a man and two women.

The victim challenged the group and the man picked up a large yellow cone and followed the victim swinging it at her.

Officers would like to speak to the person shown in the CCTV footage as he may have information which could help the investigation.

Investigating officer, PC James Mclaren, said: “We won’t tolerate behaviour where someone is targeted or made to feel uncomfortable because they are perceived to be different. We are investigating this hate crime and we would encourage anyone who has any information about what happened, or who recognises the person shown in the CCTV image, to contact police.”

If you have any information, please call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 700 – 07/07/2017.
