Man assaulted on train between Birmingham New Street and Wellington – West Midlands

Witnesses to an assault on board a train between Birmingham New Street and Wellington last month are being urged to contact police. 

The incident happened between 10pm and 11.20pm on 29 July. 

A 35-year-old man was travelling on the service when he was approached by a man and a woman. They both then became aggressive and assaulted the 35-year-old by grabbing him around the throat, his glasses were knocked to the ground and stamped on. 

The suspect male is described as being white, 5ft 4ins tall and around 25 years old. The woman is described as white, also 5ft 5ins tall, with brown hair and approximately 25 years old. 

Anyone who was on this service, or knows someone that matches this description and who would have been using the train that evening, are asked to get in touch.
