A 16-year-old girl who died on the railway in Kent on Wednesday has been formally identified as Taiyah-Grace Peebles.

A post-mortem examination took place today and although we are awaiting the final report, we believe the findings are consistent with our initial assessment that Taiyah died as a result of electrocution.

Her death is no longer being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

BTP officers remain in the area to offer reassurance to the local community and visitors to the railway station over the weekend.
Taiyah-Grace’s family have asked that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult and sad time.
