We are appealing for information after inappropriate comments were made towards passengers on a train in Scotland.

The incident happened on board the 9.53pm Edinburgh Waverley to Galashiels railway station on Friday 19 May.

Two men who were travelling on the train were acting in a threatening and aggressive manner, shouting and swearing and making inappropriate sexual comments towards female passengers. Both offenders alighted at Galashiels railway station.

Det Con Thomas Griffin would like to speak to anyone who was on board the train and saw or heard what happened.

It is believed that possible witnesses alighted the service at Gorebridge railway station.

The first offender is white, around 30 years old, large build, with dark hair shaved at the sides and back, longer on top. He was wearing a black and grey t-shirt, black jogging bottoms and white trainers. He spoke with a local Scottish accent.

The second offender is white, around 25 years old, 5ft 8ins tall with a tattoo on his neck. He has short brown hair and was wearing a beige anorak and jeans. He spoke with local Scottish accent.

If you have any information about the incident, please call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 214 20/5/17.
