A man was punched in the face in a seemingly random assault at Marble Arch underground station last month.

The 38-year-old was walking through the station at about 10.45pm on 31 March, when a man approached him and punched him. It caused the victim to fall back and he suffered a fractured skull which required hospital treatment.

It is believed the offender was part of a wider group of men who had been refused travel due to having bikes with them.

We’d like to speak to the man in this image as we believe he may be able to help with the investigation.

Investigating officer Det Con Michael Hatcher said: “The victim in this incident is still suffering the consequences of this offender’s actions – he is having trouble sleeping and has regular headaches.

“There was no apparent motive for this attack, other than mindless violence, and so we are keen to trace those involved.

“If you know the man in this image, please let us know on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, with the reference 685 of 31 March.”
