Staff member assaulted at Denmark Hill station – south London

Did you witness an incident at Denmark Hill station in which a member of staff was assaulted by a female? 

The incident happened at approximately 5.30pm on Saturday 15 April when a girl attempted to travel without a ticket. She was challenged by staff however the girl became verbally abusive. The girl then punched the male member of staff to the face. 

The member of staff required hospital treatment for a facial injury.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the assault to get in touch as soon as possible. Were you at Denmark Hill station at the time of the assault, did you witness what happened? If so, please contact officers as your information could prove vital.

In connection with this assault, a 17-year-old girl from Lambeth was arrested on suspicion of common assault and she has been released under police investigation.
