Man charged with assaulting police officer - Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been charged with assaulting a BTP officer after an incident in Stoke-on-Trent.

Anthony Blakemore, aged 35, of Queen Street, Stoke-on-Trent, was charged on Saturday (1/4) with two counts of obstructing / resisting a constable in the execution of their duty and one count of using threatening / abusive words / behaviour or disorderly behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The charges are in relation to an incident at Stoke-on-Trent railway station on Saturday (1/4) when an officer was assaulted and sustained an injury to his hand.

Blakemore was arrested on Saturday and has been bailed to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre Magistrates’ Court on 18 April.
