We are appealing for information after an incident of racial abuse at Edinburgh Waverley station on Friday 17 February.

Shortly before 8.30pm, a 17-year-old boy was with a friend and was buying a ticket from the machines in the main concourse.

Two men, both aged around 40, came up to the machines. One of the men started to urinate, while making racially offensive remarks to the victim and making threats of violence.

The offender was white and around 6ft tall, with a slim build. He had short brown receding hair and was wearing a dark hooded jacket, grey hooded top, dark trousers and black trainers.

Investigating officer PC Darran McKeen said: “This was a disgusting incident in which a young man was racially abused. This will absolutely not be tolerated and so if you were there, or if you think you know who this offender might be, please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, with reference 258 of 5 March.
