A mother has paid tribute to her “incredibly talented” daughter following her death on Friday, 17 March after she was struck by a train.

Georgia Walsh, 16, from Swanley died at Dunton Green station in Kent shortly after 8pm.

Her mum Jenny Connell said: “Georgia was incredibly talented, very artistic and dedicated. She was so funny, very quick witted and incredibly brave and we are enormously proud of her. Georgia is loved dearly.”

Georgia has left behind her mum, Jenny Connell, her younger sisters and two brothers.

Georgia’s father, Richard Walsh, and his wife Joe Walsh are being supported by their own network of family and friends and together they are united in grieving the loss of Georgia.

Ms Connell said: “Our thoughts go out to the driver of the train. Georgia wouldn’t have taken this decision lightly and we hope with support, the driver will come to terms with what has happened and find peace.”

The family has received an enormous amount of support from social media, which has provided a great deal of comfort.

Georgia’s family has requested that they are allowed to grieve privately and will not be making any further comments.
