CCTV appeal - alleged assault on Edinburgh to Aberdeen train

British Transport Police has today released a CCTV image of a woman, as it is believed she may be able to assist with enquiries following an alleged assault of a child whilst on a train travelling between Edinburgh and Aberdeen on Friday 20 January, 2017 between 4:20pm and 7.01pm.

The incident occurred on the 4.30pm Abellio ScotRail Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen service.

The woman is described as being white, aged approximately 65 years old with dark shoulder length hair tied back with a bobble, wearing glasses, she also wore generally dark clothing.

 She alighted from the train when it arrived at Aberdeen Railway Station.

Investigating officer, PC Steven Mitchell, said: "I am appealing to anyone who recognises the woman shown in the photograph to contact me as a matter of urgency."
