We are appealing for information after a sexual offence at Uphall railway station in West Lothian.

Around 5.25pm on Monday 20 February 2017, a young man exposed himself to a woman in close proximity of the north car park of the station.

She was able to leave the scene in her car and was not physically injured.

The youth had been seen loitering in the underpass area around 20 minutes prior to the incident.

He is described as white, around 5 ft 5ins – 5ft 6ins, slim build, with short dark hair, wearing a black beanie style hat, grey/navy blue hooded top (hood of jacket pulled up) with light blue “adidas” stripes from shoulder to elbows on the jacket, blue jogging bottoms and white trainers.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the youth before or after the incident, or witnessed the exposure.

Investigating officer, Det Con Thomas Griffin, said: “We believe the offender may have been seen in the vicinity of the station in the days or weeks before the incident. People who use the railway station frequently may have noticed him and may be able to assist the investigation. We have been conducting increased patrols in the area as a result. If you have any information, please call British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 1700011611.”
