Two men have been arrested in the early hours of this morning as part of the latest phase of Operation Ultimatum, an ongoing investigation into the theft of approximately £2million of rail track from across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the West Midlands.

The men, aged 50 and 54, were arrested at their home addresses in the Bessecarr area of Doncaster and are currently being held in custody where they will be interviewed by detectives.  Both addresses were then searched by specially trained officers.
Ten people were also arrested in November as part of the large scale investigation, which involved more than 100 officers from across BTP including specialist officers from the force’s high tech crime unit and cash search dogs.
