Witnesses sought after fight erupts at Bescot station – Walsall

Officers from British Transport Police are looking to trace anyone who witnessed a large disorder at Bescot station this month. 

The incident happened just after 2.30pm on Saturday 4 February. Officers received reports of a large fight between football fans on the overbridge at the station. 

Police attended and disrupted the brawl; a man was arrested in connection. It is believed the individuals involved in the fight were attending the Walsall vs Northampton fixture the same day. 

Now, officers are hoping to speak with anyone who witnessed what happened to get in touch. Were you at the station at this time? 

Get in touch by sending a text to 61006 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 405 of 04/02/2017. Alternatively, pass information anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. 

A 25-year-old man from Walsall has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
