Assault – Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

We’re appealing for information following an assault between Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton.
The incident, which happened on Sunday, 18 December, first started as a disturbance on board the train service between Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton.
The altercation was between a man and a woman during which fellow passengers had to intervene. 
Following this disturbance on board the train, a fight took place at approximately 9.30pm on the overbridge between platform six and seven at Nuneaton Station. 
The fight then spilled out onto the front of the station. In this incident, a 28-year-old woman was assaulted. 
The woman needed hospital treatment for facial injuries. She has since been released from hospital. 
Following enquiries, we have arrested a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, both from
Nuneaton on suspicion of assault. They have been interviewed and released on bail until 12 January pending further enquiries. 
Detective Inspector Gareth Davies said: “I am keen to hear from any members of the public who may have been on board the service on Sunday night between Birmingham and Nuneaton who may have witnessed the initial disturbance, likewise I am keen to hear from any people that may have witnessed the assault at Nuneaton Station.”
