Man charged following Flint luggage theft

We recently issued an appeal for help in identifying a man we wanted to speak to in connection with the theft of luggage from a train at Flint on Monday, 18 April.

Following the appeal on our Flickr account, a man has now been identified and interviewed by investigating officers.

Subsequently, we can confirm that James William Machin, aged 26, of Beechwood Road, Rhyl, has been charged with theft.

He has been bailed to appear at Mold Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 18 August.

PC Rob Thomas said: “I would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance in sharing this appeal, as well as those who came forward with valuable information.”

The appeal and all associated images should now be removed from websites and social media channels. Media outlets are reminded that court proceedings are now active in relation to this case. It is your responsibility to ensure that any information published now, or previously, complies with the Contempt of Court Act. Many thanks for your continued co-operation.
